Channel Landscape Changes as Partnering Gets Personal

The technology changes that have taken place in recent years have been 'disruptive' to the channel, to say the least. With these changes impacting how businesses are going to market and what partner business models look like (most moving to a recurring revenue business model in part, if not completely), it is no surprise that the way vendors are partnering with these businesses is changing too.

Lynn Haber from Channel Partners has written a compelling article outlining why vendors are moving away from traditional partnering programs to a more indivdualised and personalised approach. It seems that the mix in partner types in the market makes it ineffective to group partners into traditional programs and tiers, which when you think about it, makes complete sense. The last ANZ CompTIA Community meeting for 2017 has just been held in Sydney. Focused on 'Technology of the Future' there were three excellent key note speakers discussing IoT and VR, the Blockchain and digital transformation powered by the nbn. With over 130 community members attending to learn all about the opportunities these new technologies present for the channel it was such a pleasure to then network over a Christmas drink afterwards. The meeting was enjoyed by those that came along with the vast majority of attendees expressing their intention to come to the first meeting of 2018. When customers change, the channel adapts accordingly, and it seems we are seeing new partner types emerge in response to the customer's changing behaviours.

EDGE 2017 – Are Vendors and Partners On the Same Wave length?

ARN recently held the leading partner summit for the ANZ region – EDGE 2017  on Hamilton Island, which hosted more than 300 of the industry's most influential figures. Moheb was one of the key note speakers at this event, which was focused on the future, and what it holds for the Channel and those that work within it.
